Jagadhatri puja, a Hindu goddess worshipped in Dhatrigram, Baidyapur, and Mirhat of Kalna, has its roots in Kalviveka of Smarta Shulapani, Smartas Brihaspati Raymukut, and Srinatha Acharya Churamani. The oldest temple is in Somra, established in 1621 CE. Other temples include the one in Baligram village, which dates back to 500 years. The Chandrapati family's kuladevi is Jagrata.
The elegance of Chandannagar Jagadharty Puja dress is unparalleled which cannot be found anywhere else
In my mind, Jagaddhatri Puja is the first puja that comes to mind after Durga Puja. During the time of King Krishna Chandra, this puja was first done at Krishnanagar in the Nadia district. People there follow a strange traditions when they pray.
Once more, the grandeur of the Chandannagar puja is different. It has a different charm because of the lights in Chandannagar, the size of the pandals, and the ornaments that Tagore made.
So many people visit the Chandannagar Jagaddhatri Puja that the Durga Puja of the nearby town of Chinsurah is also honoured. A month after the Durga Puja, the people of Chunchada wait for the Jagaddhatri Puja.
